This build is Dragon’s
1/35 Flakpanzer IV Kugelblitz. I used a partial photoetch set from On The Mark
Models for the Panzer IV, so quite a bit of the set wasn’t used for this
build. Paints were Humbrol for the main body, and Tamiya for the tracks.
Weathering was done using Pro-Modeler Black wash, and Winsor & Newton oil
paints were used for my first attempt at a dot filter.
I tried a couple things
new in this build that I haven’t ever tried before, that had better than
expected results. The first being individual link tracks. Using a steel straight
edge and some low tack painters tape let me lay out complete runs before
applying any glue, which helped a lot in positioning the tracks and getting the
required sag, while the glue joints were still soft. I also used Silly Putty for
the first time for laying out the camouflage pattern. Enjoy the photos. Adam Baker
