1/35 Dragon British Paras

Gallery Article by Greg Kerry on Sept 7 2012

One of Dragon's older but very good figure sets - and thank God it's not another bunch of Germans. These Red Devils have more character about them than some of this company's other offerings. The prone figure with the Piat anti-tank weapon is clearly an officer, the walking stengun holder is obviously an NCO, and the other two just have to be ordinary privates.

I painted these with good old Humbrol enamels but I took great care to make sure the contrast between the colours on the camouflage smocks was as low as possible.

The base was an old wood offcut. The rear wall was a solid piece of plaster and everything else was scrap of some kind except the bricks which were bought during a sojourn in the Czech Republic (though I can't now recall the manufacturer).

Though this vignette was made some time ago I know these figures are still available except these days they come with a para's mini-motorbike - a nice little extra to park on the edge of a scene.

A great little figure set with far more possibilities than I realized here.
